Please be advised that we have initiated a voluntary recall
of items that contain peanuts that were purchased from Peanut Corporation of
America (“PCA”) because the products have the potential to be contaminated with
Salmonella. This action is the result of the PCA expanded recall of January 28,
2009 for all products manufactured in their Blakely, Georgia facility since
January 1, 2007.
Please note that the vast majority of our items do not
contain peanuts from PCA, and many of our peanut items (Chocolate & Yogurt
Peanuts, Buffalo Wing Nuts, etc.) also do not contain peanuts from PCA. We work
daily on our quality control procedures, securing Certificates of Analysis and
lab reports for our products, and the peanuts we received from PCA were lab
tested for Salmonella and shown to be “negative – none found”. In fact, with
regards to the roasted peanuts which were part of the extended recall, no
illnesses have been reported to date. It is, however, our aim to make this
recall process work effectively and we want to do everything we can to make
sure that your business is not disrupted any more than absolutely necessary.
We are working with the FDA to ensure a smooth and swift
resolution to this matter and we will have all of the recalled items and
documentation on www.fda.gov the FDA website.
We will also update our own website to keep you up to date on any developments
regarding this recall.
